The Epoch Times was founded in 2000 to bring honest and uncensored news to people oppressed by the lies and violence in communist China. Several months after starting, 10 of our reporters were arrested in China. They were given 5-10 year prison terms for the crime of reporting the truth. All were tortured.
Over the last 18 years, we have weathered physical, financial, and cyber attacks—all of which failed to stop us from acting on our mission: to use traditional, upright and true journalism to keep the public informed.
We still believe that journalism is a noble vocation, but only when it genuinely seeks to serve its communities and help them to flourish. In all that we do, we will hold ourselves to the highest standards of integrity. This is our promise to you.
